Am I Overreacting?
June 4, 2009
Today we had our company awards. There was a representative from our company who oversee all the companies in the Mid-Atlantic area. Hegot up and gave a speech about the programs that the company gives to the agents. In the beginning of his speech, he asked us all to turn and give the person to the right and left of us a hug. So, we are laughed and gave the person to the right and left of us a hug. While people were finishing up hugging, the guy said, “hey can we break up those two guys in the back!” After he said that, most of the crowd laughed. I turned to my table and said pretty loud, “why is that funny?” 2 other people at my table agreed with me and said it wasn’t funny.
Here is my question. Am I overracting and being over sensitive?
I do understand that we live in this weird world where you walk the line of Political Correctness. I am sure the guy who said the quote was very nice, but I was pissed and didn’t listen to most of his speech. So, please let me know what you think.
So You Think You Can Be A Realtor…
June 4, 2009
So today, I was sitting on the couch, watching a DVRed episode of, So You Think You Can Dance. If you have never seen the show, dancers try out to become Americas favorite dancer. Its like American Idol for dance. Every week on the show, the dancers work with different choreographers. These choreographers are horribly hard on these dancers and expect the dancers to be above and beyond, but each week the dancers learn something different that makes them a better dancer.
I have been a Realtor for 1 year and 3 months. During my whole Real Estate carrer I have had a mentor. They allowed me to shadow them on appointments. Shown me how to fill out paperwork. Had me deal with things I never thought I would have to do in my life (oil tank removal, historic preservationist, cold calling) They have been harder on me, than my parents have ever been and taken me to the point where I have considered quiting. Looking back, if my mentors had not been as hard on me or expected me to go above and beyond than I would only be mediocre.
I have taken tons of classes, read tons of books and as many blog posts as humanly possible. I am like those dancers on, So You Think You Cand Dance, without my mentor helping me every week, I would not be the Realtor I am today.
Open City = Awesome
May 17, 2009
This past week, I was in Washington DC for the NAR Mid-Year Conference. After a day of meetings a few friends and I, decided to go get a bit to eat. We ended up going to a restaurant called, Open City. From the moment our waitress, Lara, came to the table, I knew it was going to be a good time! Not only is Lara one of the coolest people I have ever met she is also one of the best waitresses EVER! We ended up staying at Open City for over 2 hours and we had one of the best times. There was never a moment when my drink was empty or that Lara wasn’t stopping by to make sure we were okay Not only did she give us superior service she became our friend. The food was super good but with the addition of the awesome service, I had one of the best times ever. If you stop by, I have to suggest that you get the Chicken Salad Sandwich, it was super yummy! So, if you ever find yourself in DC and you would like a cup of coffee, a bite to eat or an adult beverage make your way to Open City at, 2331 Calvert Street NW, Washington DC 20008!

It’s just another Rainy Monday!
April 21, 2008
Hello to everyone! I know it has been a while since my last post, I have been putting off this post because I do not know what I want to write about. Well, I still have no idea, but a very special person told me a few minutes ago, to just keep writing and it will come to you. (WVagnet What What!) So, here we go again on mine own….. yeah I am not sure.
As the title reads, yes, it is another rainy monday. My team and I have been joking that we might have to start building an ark… who wants to be my partner? I cant get on alone… ? Since we are talking about water and I am supposed to be talking about the Fredericksburg Area, I will talk about the Rappahannock River (which after living here for 23 I still have no idea how to spell and I had to Google it!)
The Rappahannock River run Through Eastern Virginia and borders the City of Fredericksburg.
Fast Fact Time!
1.) Many Consider The Rappahannock Rive the boundary line between the North and The South.
2.) Bryan Penman says “Pocahontas swam in it” FALSE!!!!!
3.) Fredericksburg is located at the Fall Line of the River.
4.) Being located directly in the middle of DC (capital of the Union) and Richmond (Capital of the Confederacy) The Area has many Civil Way Battlefields, which are fun to tour.
As you can tell, because of my Fast Facts, The Rappahannok River is a beautiful and fun place to go. You can fish, swim (but be careful), camp, or just have a picnic. Please come on over and spend the day at the river and enjoy the city after the sun has gone down…you might see me out!
